Having an impossible time with 'Log and Transfer' in Final Cut Pro 7

I have a bunch of footage on my Sony NEX-VG10 that I am desperately trying to get onto FCP-7. When Log and Transfer couldn't recognise the camera I followed this tutorial:

which made a lot of sense; however FCP is still not recognising the camera.

Since the problem arose I have:
1. Updated my software and installed a number of add-ons at the suggestion of Sony's website.
2. Tried transcoding to ProRes through AUNsoft. FCP-7 still will not recognise the prores files.

I'm hitting my head on my desk here. Is there anything blaringly obvious (Or nor obvious at all) I have missed with FCP?

What format was shot? 1080p60? 1080p50?

No clue...I don't use that camera. What does the manual say about that format?

It says very little, but Sony's website seems to imply the format is 1080 60i.

Are you running FCP 7.0.3? If not, run the software update to get there. If you still can't import it...get ClipWrap2. That does a bang up job. I see too many people posting issues that used Aunsoft converter. NONE who use ClipWrap2 have issues with it. Well, no one posted about it anyway.
