.mov to Quicktime after already imported to FCP

Hi

I have imported .mov files into FCP 7 and have been editing them but with obvious rendering problems. If I convert the files to Quicktime files and import them again, will I loose the editing work I have already done?

Thanks for your help.

If you don't say which kind of footage you are working with is impossible to suggest you what to do.
if you are talking about H264 stuff, yes, convert it to Prores before importing to FC.

We newbies must be a right pain ;-)

I meant to say from H264 to Apple ProRes 422HQ. I was just concerned that I would lose all of the editing I have done if I reimport the files again after conversion - do you know if this would be the case?

Many thanks for your help.

Is possible that you can not reconnect the files.
You should fallow those advices;
