I have two mac system with FCP 6. i recently upgraded quicktime on one of the mac to 7.7 (MAC OS 10.5.8) after that some clips i am not able to play these are XDCAM HD 422 which were playing fine earlier. the other mac which is running fine (MAC OS 10.5.8) has quicktime 7.6.6 player.

can someone let me know how to completely uninstall quicktime 7.7?

also when i am trying to install 7.6.6snowleapord version it gives error it requires mac 10.6 version or newer so hows it running on my other mac 7.6.6?

Your mail is a bit of a mess,but..
So you have leopard in both computers, right?
Go to main Library/Receipts, delete the QT Receipts and try again.
That may work, if not, won't harm your system anyway.

That should allows to overwrite QT.
The receipts are like remainders of what have been installed. they are not crucial for he system to run.
The QT.7.7 i think is too new version and probably for Lion up.
i'm with SL 10.6.6 and QT.7.6.6, and v7.7 doesn't shows as an option on Software update.
