When I import my S200 footage (MXP/24mps/30p) into Final Cut Pro 7, my sequence defaults to the footage specs, which is fine. The issue I have is that when I look at the sequence spec's it's set on "1920x1080 - 60i (16:9)". Shouldn't it just be "1920x1080" progressive wihout the interlacing? Am I reading this incorrectly? Any guidance is appreciated.

Many cameras record progressive-scan video as two fields in 1080. The technique is called Progressive Segmented Frame, or psf. The two fields behave as a single frame.

This isn't a new technique, by the way. Standard-definition DV cameras record 25p and 30p the same way.
