Render problems with split screening
on Jul 9, 2012 at 11:24:26 pm

I wonder if anyone can offer me any advice, it's much appreciated.

I have a video project in FCP7 where I need to create a split screen with 16 segments of the same clip. I did this by making 16 tracks each with a copy of the clip on it and then using the crop function in the motion tab so each track just has one particular segment of my final grid. I am manipulating these segments individually which is why I have done it this way.

All was well with the world until I came to render it - after which the central 8 sections of my 4x4 grid all turned black.

If I delete the render file by killing a track they come back and I can play the pre-render version. I have also tried copying the central 8 parts into another time line and just rendering the troublesome bits but they all still turn black.

Any ideas what is going on here?
