Mixing/Workflow for c300(24), 5DmkIII(23.98), 7D(23.98)

For this music video I have a master c300 that was shooting at 24 fps then the B and C DSLRs shooting at 23.98. At the moment I have the c300 footage ingested into FCP 7 as ProRes HQ files with "Remove Advanced pull down and duplicate frames" checked.

Final delivery will be for online and broadcast TV. What is the best workflow? Do I have to try and conform the 24 footage to 23.98 or is it better to conform 23.98 to 24? Or can it all just be worked with in a 23.98 FCP timeline?

Any help will help.

Thanks.

The C300 shot STRAIGHT UP 24fps? Why? Why why why?!?! They messed up there...big time. The C300 shoots 23.98...I know, I'm cutting with that footage now.

Try to conform it. You have to get all the footage to the same frame rate.

What do you recommend for conforming? Running the ProRes files through Cinema Tools after transcoding?

Thanks for the quick response.

Convert to ProRes first. You can't conform MXF.

Right, I typed a little too quickly as I'm trying to move fast. From what I've read elsewhere on CC it seems Cinema Tools is the recommended way to go for frame rate change. Thoughts?

You go there for 24 to 25...23.98 to 24...24 to 23.98. But not 29.97 to 25, or 29.97 to 23.98. That will make a very noticeable speed change.

Thanks. My test run (it'll all be 24 to 23.98) looked pretty solid so I'm fixing to press on. Will I need to de-interlace at all with that footage before it's all said and done?

Thanks again for the help.
