Quicktime Movie export gone bad
on Jun 18, 2012 at 12:20:44 pm

Hello,

This has never happened to me before. I'm doing a simple Quicktime Movie export for a 70 minute timeline. Instead of the Quicktime being 15 or so GB, the file is less than 4 GB. I am not doing anything out of the ordinary. Also, the export is taking at least 12 hours when it should take between 1 and 2. I have no idea what is going on. How can I get this export to behave normally?

Related info: Client requested that SD widescreen footage be blown up and placed in an HD timeline for 1920 x 1080 export

Thank you,

David Scherzer

Make sure you are selecting Export QuickTime Movie and not QuickTime Conversion. If you are selecting QuickTime Movie, is the self-contained box selected? I would create a reference (not self-contained) for this project.

Tell client not to expect great results going SD to 1080. I would let Compressor do the conversion to 1080. Capture card could also do an up convert.
