Encoding for Feature Film
on May 29, 2012 at 9:56:55 pm

I'm encoding my feature length film (90 mins) for sale via digital download. I'm trying to make it a manageable file size and retain good picture quality but am having a tough time find the right codec/settings. My film was shot in HDV 1080p30. I've been playing with a lot of H.264 settings in Compressor and coming up with sub-par results. I've never compressed a feature length film for iTunes (or any distributor of the like) and am wondering how their files preserve the integrity of the picture and are still a reasonable file size.

Any insight into the best settings via Compressor for a feature length film would be highly appreciated! Thanks!

Hy Matt,
If you want to sell your movie through internet, you should contact the companies that you expect your product through.
Each distribution channel has their own specs and rules.
