Mixed source media = choppy playback.

I capture footage on a GoPro and a consumer MiniDV camera and edit in FCP6.

I have recently started playing my movies from a USB stick on my TV. The GoPro footage looks great, as do some After Effects clips. The MiniDV camera shots, however, look jumpy/choppy.

Interestingly, if I encode the FCP movie to a DVD it plays fine so I suspect it's an encoding issue.

The problem files are either MKV or MP4 generated from Handbrake or Quicktime. The MP4 uploaded to Youtube looks fine.

Any ideas ?

Which sequence setting and codec did you used in FC.6?

OK - I'm pretty much a novice here so you may need me to guide me through this.

Firstly, I'm wrong its actually FC5 not 6.

Looking under Audio/Video Settings the Sequence preset is DV Pal (I do live in New Zealand where PAL is standard).

How do I find the actual codec ?
