Output from timeline looks muddy and degraded from original source file
on Mar 21, 2012 at 7:28:29 pm

My problem. My source file on the FC timeline looks degraded and muddy when exproting to a quicktime file. I match the settings exactly but to no avail...I was told that when I render my timelline I may be effecting the original file? Not sure what to check ...
Any suggestions would be great!!

This file is a master Colortimed File - reads as : 1920x1080, LInear PCM Aple Pro Res 422HQ
Color Profile HD (1-1-1)
Bit Rate 168,089
26.79gig file
Again I set my Quicktime settings for the output file with the same Codec and frame size.
Thanks

How are you making the comparisons? Playing in QT vs playing in FCP on your computer or are you seeing this externally on a video monitor (only real way to judge things actually for delivery to TV) or?

Thanks for responding Jerry,
I am comparing the two files (the QT source file pre timeline) and the (post timeline exported QT file withthe same codec settnings) side by side playing on the same copmputer screen. Definatley a difference and can't figure out why.
I made sure that my settings on FCP are the same codec as the source file I brought in also...I do have to render the file since I am adding some titles and effects...

What was the original format of the footage, and what effects are you adding. Which titler are you using?
