FCP6 Automatic Duck 4.0
on Mar 9, 2012 at 4:01:32 am

Hello -

Wondering if anyone knows about fcp 6 with Automatic duck 4.0
export for Avid

One thing I noticed is when I go to export at the very bottom of my export settings is "convert 24fps timecode to " a pull down menu which is grey'd out for me

my project is 24fps in final cut , as my sequence and all the files in it.
AND is going to an AVID 24 fps project.

My only concern is when I open the HTML file automatic duck generates , it states this in it's header

Project: 1080p 24, Compression: DNxHD 175
Video: Link to existing, Audio: Embedded media
Effect mode: Avid Compatible
Handles: 48000Hz, 16bits, frames: (30)
-------24fps TC converted to 30fps

Which is odd since THE OPTION IS GREY'D OUT! ... I don't want 24fps to be converted to anything. I'd like it to remain at 24 . This worries me.

I guess I'll find out when the post house I'm sending my export to let's me know if there's any problem

but wondering if any of you know about this..

when I downloaded the automatic duck user guide, it

which you can dl here

states on page 4

7. 24fpsFor24fpssequences,thissettingallowsyoutochoosewhetherthesource clip timecode will have the 24fps timecode passed on from FCP or if it should have calculated 30fps timecode.

SOOO I'm just wondering because i'm in FCP 6, that I don't have any other option but to go 30 fps..

but I find this odd since in my export options I'm able to pick a 24fps avid project when it asks "project type"

maybe I'm over worried...

but any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you
