Converting archive footage to match new 24p project
on Mar 6, 2012 at 3:51:22 pm

I have a new project with the majority of footage shot on the 5d mark ii - in 24p.

I have some old archive footage that needs to be added to the project, and I was told to convert them first.
What is the best method to do this - compressor, cinema tools? Is it as simple as setting up the frame rate in compressor and just exporting it?

The old footage was mostly mini dv footage (both HD and NTSC) and some super 8mm that was converted to 29.97.
I want to start with all the files converted properly and have read different things on how to do this, but wasn't sure of the correct method, as I know it isn't advisable, but since it is older footage it is ok if it doesn't 'match' - I just want the frame rates to work out etc.

Any help would be appreciated.
