Freeze Frame Hue Change on export

Hey...

I have a clip that I have added a freeze frame to the end of and dissolved it out. Very standard fare. In the timeline, there is no issue as I scrub through the transition to freeze. But in the exported QT file, the hue of freeze frame lightens slightly and changes hue becoming a bit green and noticeably so.

Specs - FCP 6.0, MacPro 8 core
Timeline is ProRes 422 1920x1080.
Exporting QT file using same settings as in sequence.

Any thoughts?

Derek

Hi Derek, I've noticed this too and have found two workarounds:

when you export check the "recompress all frames" option

or

instead of using a freeze frame, razor blade the very last frame and copy-paste it as many times as you need. Then use a slug on the track above, with a fade up, to accomplish the dissolve.

Hey Derek,

I think I know what you mean and it might be happening due to a difference in gamma settings.

What happens if you set the video processing settings like this (sequence settings)?

Great ideas. I'll try these tomorrow. Stay tuned...

Thanks Matt - the recompress all frame setting fixed it.
