Export Trailer for DVD
on Feb 23, 2012 at 9:19:53 pm

Hi,

I have a trailer I am looking at exporting onto a DVD. Tried sending to compressor however under a normal DVD length the video is reduced to about 2/3rds of its normal time. What settings should I create to optimize the export?

Thanks

Since we know absolutely NOTHING about the frame rates you're using -- double check them all the way through the workflow, and yes, it's boring but necessary -- nor the precise steps you followed to get your project into Compressor, we can give you very little meaningful information.

23.98 frame rate.

1920 by 1080 square pixel ratio.

minute 15 for time.

compressor is based of off source

and i send to compressor not export quicktime file etc.

Don't SEND to Compressor. It stinks. Nobody uses it. Really blows.

Make a self-contained Quicktime move, and drag it into compressor. Use the Compressor DVD presets for 90 Minute Best Quality for subsequent authoring in DVDSP. If the project is HD -- I forgot -- don't forget to set DVDSP to make a 16x9 DVD.

And remember there ain't no way an SD DVD if going to look as good as an HD FCP project, if that's what you made.
