Conforming Sony XD Footage with Log & Transfer "Invalid directory structure"
on Feb 21, 2012 at 12:36:11 pm

I've read through lots of posts now but nothing has related to my specific problem.

I am conforming an Apple ProRes (Proxy) sequence in FCP 7.03 using Log & Transfer. The footage I'm having a problem conforming has been shot on Sony F800 - After selecting the clips, batch capturing and setting the volume location I get this error ""****_A045-4648" contains unsupported media or has an invalid directory structure. Please choose a folder whose directory structure matches supported media."

I have installed the XDCam log & capture plugin 2.12, but the plug in doesn't exist in the 'Import Preferences' location with the other plug-ins (P2, RED, Canon XF etc)

I think at some point I have installed both 2.12 & 2.13 but neither has worked.

I have double checked the folder structure and everything looks correct compared against the directory structure listed in the F800 manual (Listed below)

ROLL NO >
Alias.xml
Clip (Folder)
Component (Folder)
discmeta.xml
Edit (Folder)
General (Folder)
Index.xml
mediapro.xml
Sub (Folder)
syspro.xml
UserDate (Folder)

I'm running OS X 10.6.8 on a 2 x 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon.

Can anyone offer any help on this?

Thanks,
Tom

In addition the Sony F800 creates .MXF files rather than MP4's. I have been able to conform EX3 footage from BPAV folders with no issue.

I found some software called XDcamExtrator for FCP: http://www.videotoolshed.com/product/40/xdcamextract-for-fcp - But it won't open ("no mountable file systems") which would lead me to believe that it only works with removable media (XDCAM Disk or SxS)

If your BPAV folder is damaged, you need to rebuild it with the SONY Clip Browser.
