I brought a motion project into FCP7 IMX30 sequence and the motion graphics flicker or look pixelated once exported out of FCP and viewed on an NTSC monitor. Tried changing the field dominence to none in FCP and it seemed to work well for the graphics but caused issues with the video in the project. Also changed it to upper and that looked awful. What else should I try to fix the flicker issue?
The term "flicker" is overused and often misleading.
Candles flicker in the wind. A light bulb flickers when the filament is about to blow.
I'd say you probably have to change the field order of the footage -- not the edit timeline itself -- to whatever you made in Motion.
Probably the most likely culprit is that IMX 30, being based on MPEG2 and thus is long-gop footage, is not a valid editing codec in FCP. I think if you change everything to Pro
Res 422, the problem goes away.
