JPEG not correct in FCP7
on Jan 27, 2012 at 6:29:40 am

HI

I imported a jpeg graphic that has a white background. When I put it on the timeline and double clicked it came out with a solid blue background instead. I checked the alpha channel and it said it had none.

When I changed it to a PNG file and imported it was perfect.

Anyone got any ideas what is happening?

That's correct.
JPEG do not have Alpha channel.

Do you know how I can easily fix this problem rather than having to convert the jpeg to PNG and then re-importing?

No way.
You need a format supporting Alpha: PNG, TIFF, TGA,..
