MPEG 4 encoding bitrate limit issue
on Jan 24, 2012 at 11:22:25 pm

First of all, please, sorry about my english.
I have ProRes files that I want to recompress in mpeg 4 codec (mov encapsulated) with 350Kb/s bitrate. When I do it with compressor it just works but if I try it with FCP export or media manager it doesn´t. The result files are 2150Kb/s or something and with the quicktime conversion sometimes work, sometimes not.
I want to use Media Manager to recompress all clips and reconnect automatically but with compressor I have to do it manually.
I don´t know why it ignores the bitrate limit.
The compression is from ProRes 422 HQ 1920x1080 to 320x180 350Kb/s PCM Mono 8bit 32.000Khz because it´s necesary very light files(send to other continent via web for an offline edit).
Sorry one more time about my english and thanks in advance.

PD: I have FCP 7

Try using Export -> Quicktime Conversion.
You should be able to find the MPG options you're looking for this way.

I don't think MM is well fitted to do this operation.
Try MPGStreamclip. It has a Batch Export option.
Make sure is exporting the original TC.
