Sound Editing in Final Cut Pro

Hey guys, I am working on a project with a lot of background noise...kind of like a hiss. Is there a easy to to eliminate that? Can I do that in soundtrack or do I need pro tools. I believe the client only had soundtrack pro on their machine. If you guys could also link me any recommended current tutorials that would be great too! thanks.

Use Bias Sound Soap, it is the best tool for filtering our background noise. It installs as a plugin for Soundtrack Studio, it will also show up as a plugin for FCP, but don't attempt to use it there, too many headaches.

Soundtrack has a "Noise Reduction" facility that's fairly simple to use.

Larry Jordan has some excellent Soundtrack tutorials.

iZotope make a great suite of tools including denoising which can run as a plugin or standalone on the Mac. Having used systems like CEDAR and Waves in the past, I consider iZotope to be on par with them and very affordable.
