mp3 file not rendering...when it did earlier in the sequence!
on Dec 20, 2011 at 1:19:34 am

Hello all...Happy Holidays.

Used part of an mp3 file earlier in a sequence I'm working on. It required rendering...I rendered it...all is fine with that. I now want to play the whole song at the end of the sequence but when I try to render it I get a "File Error: Access denied" message. Double-checked on the earlier piece of the song...it's still playing. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Scott

[Scott Herriott] "Any help would be appreciated."

Never ever use MP3 audio in FCP. That's all there is to it Scott. Transcode the MP3 files to aiff 16-bit 48kHz before editing.

Like h.264 and MP4 video, MP3 audio appears to work without issue initially, but it ultimately doesn't work properly, and should be avoided 100% of the time.

You can use Quicktime Converter for the transcode BTW.

Why not convert that MP3 into an AIFF 48k 16bit stereo (there are presets in Compressor for this) and then not have to render at all?
