Out of Memory when Rendering
on Dec 19, 2011 at 10:03:44 pm

Hi guys,

I'm having a heck of a time with an episode of a show I'm working on.
There's a bunch of titles, chroma keys, alpha graphics ect. in the sequence. Every time I go to render it stops and says "Out of Memory".

I tried rebooting, made my project smaller (currently 7mbs), rendering one effect at a time, ect....
Nothing is working...any ideas.

I would be grateful for any insight.

Any still images or anything over 4000 pixels on any side? Any CMYK graphics?

YOu can render in small sections to narrow down the clip that is causing this error.

Hi Shane,

You have ended 4 hours of excruciating pain for me.
Thank you.

I was replacing low res photos with hi res photos and it was just too much.

I think you helped me once before.....thanks again!

I have recently found a minor workaround when it seems like you're just barely running out of memory. If sometimes it renders (especially after a restart/reboot) and sometimes it doesn't,I have found that selecting the clips with the arrow tool and choosing to render selection will give the memory error more often than selecting a range with in/out and then choosing render selection.
