I've run into a small quirk. It's nothing serious but I'm a bit confused and wanted to see if any of you out there can clarify for me.
Workflow: using Canon 5 & 7D footage transcoded to Apple Pro Res 422 (LT)/23.98 (I have no mixed media)
I set up an easy setup for my sequences to:
1280x1080 HD (16:9), 23.98
Compressor: Apple ProRes 422 (LT)
However, when I drag my clips in, it prompts a dialog box that says "clips don't match timeline, want to change?) Thinking I had maybe missed a setting I clicked ok. When I dropped the media in, I realized it was creating green line renders. When I checked my sequence settings, FCP had converted the editing timebase to 29.97. I tried several times to create new sequences, check the editing timebase before I dragged clips in, and each time it wants the clips to be 29.97 even though the footage is clearly 23.98. I'm not sure why this is. It's an easy fix, but annoying to deal with because I have to triple check all my settings before I start my edit.
If anyone has any advice, or reasons why this is happening I would appreciate it.
