stretching / multiple clips based on embedded timecode

I have a system which is recording from a bank of cameras, and writing the video from each out as an individual .mov file, with a synchronised master timecode written in for each frame.

So, I have 6 quicktime files, each with an embedded timecode track.

The catch is that each of the cameras drops in and out at times, and even when they don't, there is a noticeable amount of drift between them.

So I want to import them in a way such that:
a)Where small numbers of frames are dropped or drift occurs, the tracks are resynced to the master time.
b)Where a large number of frames disappears (ie. the camera is out), it splits the clip and synchronises to the master timecode.

Anyone have an idea how I might do this?

Could be possible to make something, but genlocking your cams should be the decent way to counteract this behaviour.
Isn't that an option?
