Syncing from a time code generator

I was on a shoot today where we ran 5 cameras and the sound tech sent time code to the second audio channel on each camera. I've never seen this before.

How can you sync up all 5 cameras in FCP using that 2nd audio track that had the time code on it?

Do you have an external LTC reader?

Chris,
This is not uncommon, and there is a solution:

Time code on a spare audio track goes back at least the 30 years or so I've been doing this.:-) When it was recorded too hot on analog formats, you could hear it bleed over into the dialog audio, a tinkling, burbling sound.

It looks like you can bring up the clip and right click on the top timeline and change it to AUX Time. Am I right on that? There's so little information about this.

The Sound Tech told me there's a way to batch sync the clips in FCP using the audio time code.

I guess my main question is, "why were we using a digital slate?" If all the cameras have the same time code on it, isn't the slate redundant?

well, if the timecode is fed into the TC input of the cams, and they recorded all the same timecode, you are home free.
But, if this is not the case (and i'm pretty sure it isn't, or you would not have posted here), you have three options:
Buy my software and be done with it, buy Avid and be done with it, or do everything manually and be done with it.
