AVC Intra VFR Import in FCP
on Nov 2, 2011 at 10:58:54 am

Hello,

I recently bought the Panasonic HPX250 and now I'm figuring out the workflow for cutting.
I import the AVC Intra as ProRes Proxy.
Now I've got some shot with variable frame rate (6p/50i). Importing this in FCP with the option to delete duplicate frames gives me a clip in 50i which is still running in "realtime" and not with the right speedup.
How do I import variable frame rate material into Final Cut Pro 7?

Thx for you help.

Markus

VFR works in 720p mode. Give that a shot (pun intended)

Thx. I'll try that.

VFR in 50i seems to be a new feature of the Panasonic HPX250.

Maybe VFR works in 1080p like AF 100. If so, your clips should come in already conformed, no slo motion necessary (at 25p, not 50i).

You are right. VFR only works in 1080pn25 or 720pn25.

In 1080i50 or 720p50 VFR has a different effect. In the manual, it's called "flow effect shot".

Thanks anyway.
