High resolution screen capture program?
on Oct 20, 2011 at 8:15:45 pm

Hi all,

Sorry if I'm posting this is the wrong place but I'm making a documentary on online dating which is being edited with fcp. I wanted to add some clips of my computer screen (eg. me searching through peoples profiles) and intersperse it with my footage.

As this is going to be shown on a big screen, I need the best resolution possible. I tried using a program called Camtasia, which was quite poor quality and rather pixellated. Then I checked out examples of ishowu HD pro which doesn't seem much better.

Does anyone know of a good program I could use? I don't mind paying some money. Or could this be an issue because the screen i'm capturing from needs to be bigger?

Hope someone can help... cause I'm really lost on what to do.

Btw I'm using the latest mac operating system (lion?)... if that helps

Thanks!

See if SnapZ Pro meets your needs. It's been a very solid program every time I've needed it.

I used to use Snapz Pro X, but then I switched to Screenflow:

Camtasia is another an option:

Screenflow is awesome. It will definitely be high quality, larger than HD. If it comes out pixelated then you're exporting it out incorrectly.
