I asked this question before but didn't get an answer. I am now having this problem again. I am working on a project and am trying to re-sync the sound because somehow the current image and clip came out of sync (though final cut is not acknowledging it so the 'slip into sync' option is not there) and I don't now how to re-sync them. I went back to my sound files and pulled the sound clip and tried to re-sync it. The clip played in the viewer, but when I dragged it down to the timeline to sync it wound not play at all. Please help!
I'm not sure how out of sync because Final Cut is not registering that it is out of sync. I transcoded the footage at 24fps and my former editor said that it was actually supposed to be 23.something and that this error might occasionally result in some synching issues. I have not noticed it with the exception of this one part.
However, the timeline issue has happened both in and outside of syncing issues. I will be playing something in the viewer and the sound will be fine, then it will either be muter or drastically lower in the timeline.
Just to let you know, my editor originally synched the footage with pluralEyes.

When things seem to go out of sync in the middle of editing that's typically indicative of something like preferences that need trashing, not re-syncing on the timeline, but since you material was synced with PluralEyes originally, it's possible it has simply slipped sync. But, there's no way to know on this end.
