dual graphic cards and FCP 7
on Sep 15, 2011 at 3:56:43 pm

hello everybody,

I have an "old" mac pro (Dual-Core Intel Xeon, 2.66 GHz, 5 gm ram, NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT) and I use FCP 7. It still works great for me just that I would like to move from 2 to 3 monitors and for that I need second graphic card.
I know that was a problem before (https://discussions.apple.com/message/5680671?messageID=5680671#5680671) but I don't know if apple fix it now.
Does anybody know how it is these days? If it is possible, what graphic card should I look for?

thanks

Don't do it. You will have problems.

No need for 3 computer monitors.
1 graphics card to 2 computer monitors.
1 i/o card or bo box (Matrox, Blackmagic or AJA) to TV monitor.

that's great solution, but i have one problem with it (unfortunately)

I would like to export 720p but with 24fps from FCP to my projector. it seams that decklink doesn't support this format output :( I still don't know for aja or matrox.
So, I was thinking to buy one more graphic card and export this format trough it...
