FCP 6.0.5 on MAC OS X 10.5?
on Sep 8, 2011 at 3:53:44 pm

I want to update my OS because I just got an apple TV and need to upgrade my iTunes so that it works properly. But I can't upgrade to iTunes 10.4 unless I have MAC OS X 10.5.

I'm worried that my FCP 6.0.5 will have issues on MAC 10.5.

Any thoughts or experience with this? I was told FCP 6's crash and don't work well with the 10.5 - I just don't have the ability to upgrade to FCP 7 at the moment (mid project).

Cheers!

Are you telling us that now you're running FCP 6.0.5 on Tiger?

You sound like you have some thoughts on that ;)

Just that I haven't heard of anyone running FCS 2 on Tiger in five years.

I have written an enormous number of posts over the years explaining how to clone your present hard drive using Carbon Copy Cloner (free) to an inexpensive firewire drive so you can install updates on your computer and test with complete confidence. There's no reason to fear if you do that, as you can always clone the clone right back to your system drive if necessary.

If you use the search feature on this forum to search "Carbon Copy Cloner" you will find a load of fully articulated examples of what to do...

Good luck!
