audio hiccup on audio with fade
on Sep 6, 2011 at 4:34:52 pm

Hi.

I'm experiencing a problem with FCP 6, and I'm hoping to get some advice.
When I playback music with a fade at the end, a strange audio hiccup happens. Instead of fading out, the audio suddenly blasts loud instead. If anyone has ideas about why this is happening, I'd really appreciate hearing them.

Thank you very much,
Lillie

Here are the stats.

Processor: 2 X 2.26 GHZ Quad Core Intel Xeon

Memory: 8 GB 1066 MHZ DDR3

FCP v 6.0.6

Drives: HD One Cal Digit drives 10 TB.

Thanks for any advice!

Have you rendered the audio yet?

Yes, I have rendered the audio. Just for more information, this audio problem generally only happens in long timelines (over an hour).

If you've done repeated audio renders over the course of the edit, it can help to just start over from scratch. Use the Render manager to delete all the existing audio render files and do one big, long audio render.

Is the audio you have applied the fade to a compressed format like mp3 or aac? It should be aif or wav, 16 or 24 bit, 48khz. If the bit depth or sample rate is different to that or the sequence is not 48 khz, then audio problems are common, so check sequence and clips are 48khz and uncompressed formats like aif or wav
