Trying to make the "Apple Look" on videos
on Aug 30, 2011 at 3:21:27 pm

Hi guys,
I'm posting here because most of you are also producers and not only editors and this is the forum that I feel more comfortable with … lol
I'm needing some advice.
I've got a client that I've been producing and post producing his training videos. Usually we do it in green screen and create a virtual set.
For the next one he wants it to have that "Apple Look". White background … more clean, etc … .
In my opinion ( I might be wrong ), lightening with a white background, certainly reflects the lights and make the whole "picture" to have a washed look. To prevent that I think that I should still record it in green screen and make a white/clean background digitally.
Probably I will have more work to do during the keying process to avoid the green color spill over the subjects but it would be better than having a washed look that could be worst to fix it in post color grading.
Am I right ?
thanks in advance to you all.
Fredy.

Forget people ....
I've decided to go without the green screen.
I will have the background well lit by some Kinos.

thanks anyway.

much better idea!

I did the same thing a year back, just ensure your talent is well lit and expose for them. The background will probably register as too bright, but thats what you are after to get the clean look!

Also keep the talent away from the backdrop, as any slight shadow will ruin the effect.
