Question about exporting for sd dvd, internet, and more (t2i footage)...
on Aug 15, 2011 at 6:55:07 am

I'm wondering if this is the correct workflow to get my footage to sd dvd, internet, and possibly festival formats.

I shot with a t2i -> dumped the h.264 files on my comp -> converted to pro res LT and HQ -> edited in prores LT 720p timeline sequence -> offline LT media files and replaced with HQ files and change sequence to prores HQ for color correction -> export to quicktime movie -> use compressor to compress to desired format.

Is this the best way to work with the footage? This is what I gathered from various posts. I do not have to go back to h.264 unless I am opting for online footage right? Is there a webpage that goes over the most used export codecs?

Thanks.

Skip LT stage for you already have HQ and you neither save disk space nor time on processing LT. LT-now-HQ-later might be useful in case you're short of disk space or lack powerful tower.
