Does FCP always compress when exporting?
on Aug 15, 2011 at 2:21:11 am

Hi everyone,

I have an .mov that was created with After Effects and I need to replace all of the audio. (A temp dialogue track with the final dialogue track).

So I will import the file into FCP and then replace the old dialogue with the new dialogue.

If I then export this from FCP as a Quicktime movie using Current Settings, will FCP compress it again or will I retain the original video?

Hope that's not confusing!

Thanks,

Rob

If the settings of the sequence (ie current settings) match exactly the clip then there shouldn't be any re compression.

I think you can also add or replace audio in quicktime pro.
