What does scale correlate to? on Aug 9, 2011 at 12:19:19 am

I want to take four shots, shrink them, and fill the frame with shrunken versions of all four at 1/4 size. My first instinct was to scale to 25 but that was very clearly wrong. I'm not entirely sure what scale correlates to mathematically. Anyone know? This will make it easier to do this sort of thing in the future. The footage I'm playing with is 16:9

a box which takes up a quarter of the screen is actually half as wide and half as tall as a full screen...hece 50%.

And the scale relates to the size of the object (clip or still) you are managing, not to the size of your canvas.

I guess I'm wondering matematically how it works. I just feel like everytime I want to do a split screen, there should be some formula I use to determine what to do instead of putzing around to figure it out.

Sure.
Learning the application and some very basic maths.
