I am currently using FCP 7 with ADVC 300. It constantly giving me interlace lines and suddenly the picture goes still whilst capturing...any solution? The same device works with i-movie perfectly fine...

How can anyone help you without you listing your setup? Your settings?

What are you feeding this converter?
In what way are you connecting to it?
What are you capture settings?

I'm capturing from a DVD in pal dv 48 kHz...it's through the composite in...

Well there you go, what a mess.
Put the disc in the comp and rip it:

mpegstreamclip

Thats not a solution...basically we need to capture content that has been recorded on a dvd recorder...and its 30-40 hours of video to go through...so mpeg streamclip wont work...

Details up front will get your solution quicker and easier for all.

Choose your easy setup.
Then change your machine control to none.
Use Capture now.
If your DVD recorder is making interlaced then you might need to capture interlaced.

I know how to capture! there is interlacing happening only in fcp not in imovie...and the video is going static in between...
