Print to tape: 60 mins tape cuts at 41 mins
on Jul 5, 2011 at 6:00:30 pm

Hi there,

I'd appreciate a point in the right direction as I think I'm being very thick :/

I'm trying to print rushes to video from FCP to Sony HVR M25. I printed hour long sequences last month with no problem; I haven't changed any of my Print to Video settings, deck settings and am using the same batch of tapes and yet this time around all of the tapes seem to reach their end at 41 mins.

I'm obviously doing something wrong and I bet it's gonna be something blindingly obvious! Can anyone give me a hand? I'm driving myself a bit crazy!

Many thanks

Killian

Hi killian,
I guess that you have the desk set to DVCam instead of DV.
DVCam (being everything the same), makes tapes run faster: Right like in you case: a MiniDV tape plays in 42/43 minutes.
I don't know that desk, but I guess you just need to change this in the VTR main menu (recording options).

Hi Rafael,

I've tried that, but when it starts the record the deck just records nothing, meaning the deck records but just black.

Am I forgetting somthing else?

K

Make sure you deck is recording DV and NOT DVCAM.
Print to tape again.

That doesn't sounds like an FC issue.
can you monitor out of the desk?
Try a "Print to Video" manual.
