How do combine 60 frames & 25 frames footage? And a lot more problems
on Jul 5, 2011 at 2:52:01 pm

Hi..

I have 2 different footage shot from Canon 5D(1920x1080) and Canon 7D(1280x720).

> When I render the footage for viewing, FCP runs out of memory.

> I encounter same problem doing slow motion from FCP to motion and back to FCP. I need to re-render the slow motion footage back again.

Is this common- running out of memory?
Is this the only way to do it?

> I'm also having problem running this 2 format at the same time line.

How can I rectify this? Is there a simpler method?

Using the correct workflow makes things a lot easier in FCP.

First thing you need to clarify is do you actually have both NTSC (60) and PAL (25) footage.

If this is the case, you need to choose one format and convert the other using Compressor or Nattress plug-in.

Same applies to your 720 and 1080 footage. Choose one and cross convert the other.

Transcode your h.264 footage to ProRes.

Your other option is to use the new FCP X.
