Mixing 48KHz and 33KHz on a Final Cut Pro 5.1.4 timeline
on Jun 14, 2011 at 11:40:09 pm

Hi there.

My timeline mixes audio rates of 48KHz and 32KHz. Stupidly, I didn't realise I shooted at different rates until after capturing and so captured all footage in a 48KHz PAL project. The audio format in the browser for all clips is 16-bit and the timeline format reads as 32-bit Floating Point.

Now, nothing is actually out of sync. My problem is in the outputting stages where the h264 compression flickers a bit, but then once authored, completely freezes.

Does it sound like the outputting problem is a result of the mixed audio? What would you suggest I do to fix this?

Many thanks,

Holly
