xdcam export problem from fcp
on May 18, 2011 at 8:51:29 pm

I am trying to export a sequence to XDCAM and keep receiving the following error message.

"Please check that your XDCAM device is set up correctly, the REC INHIBIT indicator is off, and the disc is not full.

The device should be configured like this:

Video: DVCAM 525 / 60i. Audio: 4 ch x 16 bit

Error reading movie (while checking valid DV VAUX Source Control Pack)."

Does anyone know how to solve this problem? I have re-formatted the disc, rebuilt the sequence, export as quicktime and tried again, all to no avail. Any help is greatly appreciated.

What device are you exporting to? I'm using XDCAMHD and exporting to a Sony PDW-U1 drive.

Exporting XDCAMHD disk (PFD50DLA) to a PDW-HD1500 deck.

Have you exported to this deck before? How are you connected to it? Have you downloaded the appropriate drivers from Sony Pro site for it?
I also use a 1500 deck but output real-time via HDSDI to it.

I have exported to the deck over 100 times this year.

I am only having problems with a certain sequence of clips. I'm wondering if it is just a corrupt file, in which that case, I have no clue which one it is.

If you don't have the time to investigate each clip yourself, you could use FCS Maintenance Pack. Included is a utility that automates corrupt clip discovery. It's not free but worth every penny when you need it.

Where/How can I get that? I've got some money budgeted for software update/fixes.

Thanks
