Trying to use compressor. After submitting video for reformatting I end up with video and audio seperate with 2 different icons in desktop. I really do need the video and audeo all in one unit. Help. thanks.
I imported dvd with Mpeg Streamclip. THen put it on timeline for more editing. Then export to quicktime movie. Then import to compressor FCP. I choose DVD:Best Quality in settings menue. After hours of process i end up with 2 icons on desktop, video and audio.2 seperate animals. thanks for any help. I'm missing a step somewhere.
Compressor did exactly what you asked it to do. When you choose a DVD preset, the end result is a video and audio files for DVD burning. Are you wanting to deliver to a DVD or are you wanting a single file for uploading to the web?
Cody's completely right: that's what Compressor is supposed to do.
I'll add one more thought: if you have Final Cut Pro 7, you can use the Share function to burn a simple DVD more easily than in DVD Studio Pro. However, the Share function doesn't give you much control at all over the look of the menu, etc.; it takes a long time; and in my experience, it's pretty flaky.
So I would recommend bringing the files you just made into DVD Studio Pro and creating a simple menu there. You can use the menu, buttons, etc.--or the whole project file--as a template for future DVDs.
Help me here. I'm so silly. I'd kinda like to have both video and audio together to send to Studio Pro to make a master dvd. If i take the 2 seperate files there is there away to, for the lack of a better term, stick them back together? thanks.
