QT has problems with interlaced video being displayed on a computer (progressive scan) monitor... if you're movie is progressive, it's minimized a lot.
QT also has a problem with anamorphic footage, but other than those caveats (and the fact that same video played on a video monitor or TV will not exhibit the same gammas) I don't see a real problem with it.
However you shouldn't have to recompress all the frames. The best export you can do is file/export/QT movie and click on self contained. This then doesn't recompress the video resulting in a generation up from a recompressed video.
