finishing sequences within fcp
on May 5, 2011 at 5:39:26 pm

I have just finished cutting a movie trailer for cinema and for internet.
There is no money for an online and colour grade so I am delivering the quicktime direct to client.
As I can't have an online to check the peaks etc of the luminance levels etc, is there a way in fcp that will make everything legal?

There are a few negative images that flash up for example, and I need to make sure it doesn't fail a tech review.
Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thankyou in advance.
Dan.

depending on your graphics card the scopes in FCS 3 are very close. That should give you an idea of what's goin on.
check effects>color correction> Broadcast safe filter
Be aware that "everything" legal would include audio levels. often overlooked

Thank you for post.
Does that mean I simply select whole of video layer and
apply effect and render it.
Cheers,
Dan

If the levels change from shot to shot, fix individual shots. If it's all one big file, use the blade tool to split it up.
