I have a question about using the Colour application from FCS. I have a macbook pro with 15 inch screen. When I open up Colour it warns me that Colour recommends a screen resolution of 1680x1050 and that my macbook has a screen resolution of 1440x900 which is the maximum screen resolution my macbook allows. The colour app still opens but it is hard to read the text and difficult to use.
If I were to buy a generic external monitor with a larger screen resolution would I be able to connect my macbook to the monitor and use the colour application on that or would I still be limited by the maximum resolution on my laptop which is 1440x900?
I am aware that ideally colour needs a careful set up with and output to TV to check the colour quality but I am an art student mainly looking to grade my own short "art films" for projection in a gallery space. So the external monitor would work for me at the moment. Any advice?
