I have a large project that I'm unable to open on my 8 Core Mac Pro - but I CAN open it on my Macbook Pro.
I don't know if it's because of some of the new plugins I've purchased and installed on the Mac Pro [Magic Bullet Denoiser, Coremelt Complete], or if there is some other issue, but any insights would be helpful.
I've tried the following:
Trashing FCP Prefs and cache files
Repair Hard Drive Permissions
Opening project from another drive
Disconnecting the FW media drives
Deleting the new plugins
Still no joy.
The project gets to 3% or 4% and then stops opening the project.
I am, however, able to open a trillion other projects on my Mac Pro, just not the one I urgently need to open.
First thing I would try is move the original media used in the project to a different location on the drive and open the project. If it opens, you have a corrupt clip. 3-4% indicates the clip is in the beginning area.
Try to reconnect each clip one by one.
