Is Blu-Ray to HDV Possible?

I'm looking for a way to convert a Blu-Ray disc (BDMV Folder) to HDV for editing in FCP. It is not copy protected content. Does such software exist?

Explain to the client that HDV is not s good codec to edit and long GOP structure causes difficulty editing and does a horrible job preserving quality. Recumbent to them using ProRes.

[Chris Babbitt] "I'm doing it for a client who wants it in HDV."

If that's what they want, then give it to them.

Take a BluRay player and dub to and HDV deck.

I wouldn't do it that that way. I also won't touch HDV.

I don't have an HDV deck. I need an HDV file. It sounds like Eric has the solution. The only problem is that it's a Windows program.

The app I use for this is iSkysoft Video Converter for Mac. It's not free, but itg's inexpensive and it works well.

Explain to your client politely that he will regret this.
Hdv. Just dont.
Blu ray is already encoded source.
Converted to Hdv long gop compression.
Some people never learn.
