Best file format for export?
on Feb 11, 2011 at 4:24:17 am

I've got Final Cut Express HD. If the solution to my problem is just upgrading to Pro I'll do that, couldn't find a Creative Cow forum for it.

Anyway, editing something in HD, aiming to burn it to a DVD & submit it to my first film fest, so obviously quality is pretty important.

But when I export to QuickTime, there's some ugly ghosting, and avi files aren't a lot better. What's the best way to export everything?

Try using iDVD. If it still looks bad, you have other issues going on. One that comes to mind immediately is that you shot 24p and failed to remove the 3:2 pulldown.
