Remove audio on clip
on Feb 9, 2011 at 11:43:06 am

I have a lot of b-roll to add to a timeline that I don't want the audio from, and rather than drag the clips over, un-link them, delete the audio tracks then move to the correct position, is there a way to quickly strip the audio from a series of clips whist still in the bin so I can simply drag them to the correct spot?

thanks.

I'll guess you have 2-channel audio. The easiest way is to disable the target audio tracks. Click on the A1 and A2 buttons on the timeline, disconnecting them. Now when you add the clip, you'll get video only.

I already have a few audio tracks laid out for the main dialogue. Is there not a simple way to select a group of clips in the bin and strip the audio off or disable it in a setting?

It hardly gets any easier than turning deselecting audio target tracks. I don't know why you find it so difficult.
