HDMI external monitor, video drops frames and audio delay

Hello, I'm using an HD LED TV as an external monitor, conected via minidvi/HDMI. I'm trying to playback Appleprores 422 HQ files, but the video drops frames and stutters and the audio is delayed. In the past I solved this issue easily changing the Playback Video Quality to medium in the timeline, but this time the trick won't work. I'm wondering if this is because I'm using a new LED TV or if this is a cable issue.
I need this monitor to be external, don't want to use the mirror monitor option. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Computer? Graphics card? This is all dependent on your graphics card, as it is the one managing the playback. If you have a base stock card, it might not be up to the task.
