Quicktime Reference Files - Relinking
on Dec 15, 2010 at 11:11:16 pm

Hi,

I have added bumper videos to our video collection (which is very large), by creating reference movies in quicktime.

Now, I have backed up the source files and the reference files on another drive. Quicktime take a very long time to "Searching for Movie Data in File" and relink them.

I am trying to use the old utility Dumpster to modify the dinf, dref resources of the file to point to the correct hard drive.

Is there an easier way to relink the files instead of letting Quicktime look for them? I would love to know if there is app that will allow me to Located the referenced files on my own.

thanks

Stop making references files for this. Make self contained QT files...no relinking. Reference files are meant for a quick way to get your video to a file that you can take into compressor and compress...then toss when you are done. They are not meant to be used again and again in projects.

Make things simple. Self Contained QT files.
