automatic markers in fcp for edits -> AE

Hi guys - is there a simple way to have FCP to create markers for all edits in a sequence?

We need to get a timeline from FCP which has a few hundred edits via automatic duck into After Effects so we can jump around the edits in AE using the imported markers.

Any help (or a simpler solution!) much appreciated...

Cheers

There's a slight problem: FCP markers won't import into AE. For one thing, Apple & Adobe aren't what you'd call best buddies, and for another I'm aware of no third-party application that would let it happen.

The limitation: the AE comp timeline only allows for 10 markers, labeled 0 thru 9.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the heads up. i actually need markers on a layer in AE, not the sequence, which allow me to have lot more.

Okay then, perhaps -- I repeat, PERHAPS -- Automatic Duck will allow those layer markers to come through in the XML file. I don't know for certain; you'd have to check on the Automatic Duck web site.

The Duck gives you FCP layer handles and selected effects in AE, maybe it'll do markers, too.
